Urban Birdwatchers

Papa bought and hung a hummingbird feeder on the patio while he was here.  We have enjoyed watching the little birds feed, buzz about, and fight over the sugar water.  They are quite bold about approaching the feeder even when we are close but we sometimes scare them away.  In order to get a better view, we constructed a bird blind.

Actually, it's just a play tent.  Anna suggested some camo but I am pretty sure these city birds would find that odd.

 Micah would be a great companion on a long duck hunt but you would never see a duck.  He makes too much noise.

 Anna converted our new patio cart for her viewing place.

 This little guy likes to sit in the tomato plants and chase away anyone else who comes to feed.

 

So far we have identified 4 or 5 species of birds. Once school starts we will be sure to count our bird watching for credit.
