September with Sauders

My parents came for two weeks of sun, fun, and sugar.  Papa and Grandma like to pack in the trips and treats when they are here.

We visited Irvine Regional Park, a place my mom went as a little girl.  Micah's first comment after getting into the paddle wheel boats was "Ramming speed!"

 We noticed a neighbor's tree, loaded down with pomegranates.  We knocked on her door and then picked lots.  Micah probably did over half of what you see here.  We ate them fresh and made some jelly.

 Dad and I road our bikes down the Mountain to Sea Trail.  16 miles on a bike takes us from our house to the end of Balboa pier.  Micah went 9 miles before he called Peter for a pick-up.

 We didn't get much done in the way of formal school but we sure took a lot of field trips.  Anna and Micah really enjoyed the ferry ride across to Catalina.

 We saw a few seals and even a spouting whale.
