Santa Anita Race Track
We took the kids to the Santa Anita Race Track for a day of horse racing and fun. Peter found a deal online and we got to go in the family fun zone. Face painting, rock climbing, pony riding, bounce house stuff, carnival games, junk food. All the stuff we never do. Micah and Anna had a great time.
The view from the stands is beautiful. We enjoyed watching the clouds roll in and out between patches of sun.
They both climbed the rock wall and Anna even made it to the top! (Maybe with a little help from the spotter.)
Micah fed a carrot to one of the post parade horses.
I snapped the following picture just as a horse started to act up in the paddock area. He reared up and then lurched backwards onto his back before rolling through the bushes just to the left of us. We quickly backed up from the fence before he smashed it on his way to standing up.
Micah loved watching the tractors smooth the course as much as the races themselves.
