Moundville Field Trip

We took a field trip to the Alabama Moundville Archaeological Park.  I remember hearing about this site while I was in grade school.  Free museum Saturdays count for school days when you homeschool.

 We tramped around the site and enjoyed the great museum.    It was kind of reminiscent of Israel, but with grass and fire ants covering everything.  The view from the top of one of the mounds:

And the view of the river.  I think the barge coming up the river was the highlight for Micah.

 We ended the day with a football game.  Free tickets for that also thanks to something Peter won.  UAB Blazers vs. Florida International University.  Not big names but enough for Micah and Anna to say they'd been to a football game.  Anna said she can better understand the game on TV having been in a stadium.
