Packing Heat

The typical garage is useful for all sorts of things.  Parking cars, storing junk, paint projects when the rain is coming down outside.... But my garage is special, it's in the south.  What is the difference between a regular garage and a southern garage you might ask?  Heat.

Yes, I know, your garage is hot in the summer.  But it's not southern hot.  Summer morning, noon, and night, rain or shine.  The kind of hot that can defrost a stack of frozen tortillas in about 3 min.  The kind of moist hot that raises bread dough almost instantly.  Don't warm that bun in the microwave, it will be tough and chewy, the stove will dry it out.  Just set it on the hood of the car!  No flies or extra electricity included.  I feel so green:)

Cooking with your garage does have it's drawbacks however.  One the one hand, you can use the crockpot to cook meat without heating up the house.  On the other, your garage smells like a freakish, live taping of Emeril Live what with the lawnmowers, half empty paint cans, and a dead cockroach or two lying around.  And because the delicious smells stay in the garage (for as long as 24 hours or more) your family might worry that no dinner is on the way.

I might could sell my tips to Southern Living, what ya'll think?
