Here's the cardinal that has established his control over our feeder.  We named him Mr. Rojo.  There are a bunch of others (not pictured).  Anna thought the other one's name should rhyme so she's calling him Bojo.  I think Bojo is actually a couple of females and possibly a more juvenile male.  From what I have seen online, it looks like cardinals don't migrate.  Hopefully we'll get to see Mr. Rojo as he matures into full red plumage. We've seen as many as five cardinals around the feeder but he definitely calls the shots.

And here's one of the lovely creatures that seem to crawl into my house nightly.  We always seem to find them dead around the edges of doors.  I'm wondering how they are getting in and if the former owners sprayed something that causes them to die on entry.  Whatever it is, Peter says we'll make sure we keep spraying:)

And another wild creature who loves to run away to a favorite hiding spot with a good book.

  1. Cardinals do stay around here year-round - you should get to see some bright red-ness soon!! And Max Roach Baits work wonders. And that's coming from someone that is seriously and morbidly afraid of roaches.
