Christmas '07
Blogging is a great hobby for most weeks but after vacations and holidays it gets a little intense. I have more pictures than I could possibly ever load and more stories and tidbits to share than time to share them. You will have to bear with me and Anna as we try to fit blogging into our schedule.
Peter's sister Amy flew into the airport on Thursday before Christmas. She stayed with us until Peter got off work on Friday and we headed to Corning. Peter's brother David and his family were already there.
Our visit was mostly composed of eating, enjoying the kids, eating, sitting around chatting, and eating. There were wagon rides for the young and the restless, naps for the cranky, and presents for all! Did I mention the food?
Peter and I both observed that Christmas is different when you have children. You don't get a break from changing diapers, mixing rice cereal, and keeping little one occupied. Gone are the days of staying up late and sleeping in (Anna was up by 6:30 every day.) I guess that's okay with us because Christmas shouldn't be about us. It is a celebration of Christ coming to earth as a baby so that he could grow up, die on a cross, and save us from our sin. It is more appropriate that we honor and worship him with serving and enjoying others than checking off boxes on our wishlist.
I am sure I will think of more things to say and find more cute pictures to post over the next few days so I am not going to even try to give you a blow by blow timeline of events. Here's Christmas '07...

Anna loved cruising on the table and chairs used to complete our puzzle (a Woodson family tradition on most visits.)

Aunt Amy (Peter's sister-in-law) and Anna share some cuddle time, a skill that Anna is only now beginning to acquire.
Getting everyone facing the camera with eyes open, hands out of mouths, and smiles on lips, can be a tall order. Two out of three isn't bad!
More pics to follow.
