Blogger Browsing

Today, while Anna was napping, I hopped onto the computer to catch up on a friend's blog (Sarah Hughes). While there, I noticed that she had links to a couple of blogs belonging to people I know. This lead me to another blog which happened to also have a couple of blogs belonging to people I know. And that led me to...

Some blog pictures come up before the text and I saw pictures of children that were so much a "chip off the old block" that I knew whose page it must be before I confirmed the owner. Everyone I knew in college must either be pregnant or just had a baby. I traveled to Italy, Hungary, Columbia, Texas, Oregon, and New York. Before I had finished I caught up on two IBEX buddies, a teacher education professor, several fellow former TMC library employees, a TMC wingmate/secret sister, people who served me food in the TMC caf, the guy who used to sit at the cafeteria entrance and swipe ID cards, John MacArthur's Pulpit Magazine, and untold number of acquaintances. And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Being a part of the Master's bubble helps but I am sure there would be interesting things to find if I started clinking on random links to the other interests of my friends.

So if you have a free afternoon, or at least a napping infant, see where the links take you. (Although you'll have to start somewhere else because we haven't yet posted any:)

  1. I did that once. The alumni magazine was a bit of a letdown because I already knew a few of the announcements.

I haven't joined a few of the social networking sites because I haven't decided if I want people to find me or not.
